The owner of Augusta Vin originally envisioned a charming plantation-style project featuring inviting wrap-around porches on both levels, which were intended to serve as a welcoming tasting room for the vineyard's exquisite products. At Texas Timber Frames, we developed a conceptual structural design inspired by the classic old-world timber construction technique known as cruck framing, which resonated deeply with the owner. This architectural style is recognized for its use of arched trees to support the rafters, allowing for expansive, unobstructed interior spaces. The technique also utilizes the finest and straightest timber, historically preferred in shipbuilding, adding both strength and beauty to the structure.
