University of Houston's Retail, Auxiliary, and Dining Center

Timberlyne is excited to announce its involvement in renovating the RAD Center, which stands for Retail, Auxiliary, and Dining Center. This modern facility is strategically located on the grounds of the former Student Center Satellite building, a site that has been transformed to better serve the needs of the campus community.

The RAD Center is an impressive two-story building designed to accommodate a total of 400 guests. It focuses on enhancing the dining experience and features spacious outdoor patio seating on both levels. Visitors can enjoy their meals while taking in the picturesque views of the lush campus greenery, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

The RAD Center design features a mass timber structural system and vertical façade rhythms, and the aesthetics reflect the surrounding campus woodlands. The building itself is constructed using large, multilayered solid wood panels, showcasing a commitment to sustainability. This design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the center but also prioritizes life safety and wellness, making it a beneficial addition to the campus.

The remodeling project has created an inviting and spacious environment that encourages students and staff to dine, socialize, and unwind with friends throughout the academic semester. Notably, the construction of the RAD building during its second phase was executed without causing disruptions to students, reassuring that the final stage of construction will maintain this level of convenience.
